Alan Johnson picked up his first Advance Auto parts Super DIRT Series win of the '06 season Wednesday night at The Ransomville Speedway in western New York. Johnson led the first six laps before giving way to World of Outlaw late model mainstay Tim McCreadie on lap seven.
McCreadie, driving his father's Kinney Drugs No. 9, held the lead for the next 50 circuits before Johnson was able to regain the top spot and motor forward for the 100-lap victory. The win was worth $6,000 to the Nativepoker.com team and moved Johnson up to fifth in the Tour points standings.

“The car's been good all year on the tour, we've just been snake-bit with tire problems recently,” Johnson said.

McCreadie was happy with his second-place effort aboard his father's familiar ride.

“We'll keep going with this; I plan on running every Series race that I can. I'm planning on Fulton next Wednesday in this car,” McCreadie said.

Advance Auto Parts tour point leader Billy Decker was third, followed by Ransomville regular Chad Brachmann. Pat Ward completed the top five finishers.

Brett Hearn was sixth, with Matt Sheppard seventh in the Randy Ross owned No. 44s. Todd Burley ended up eighth after losing a right rear tire on the last lap while occupying the fifth position. Justin “T-bone” Haers and Stewart Friesen rounded out the top 10 finishers.

As McCreadie alluded, the next stop on the tour is at the nearby Fulton Speedway June 28, for their annual Showdown at Sundown 100. The Series remains in Central New York for the following race, Monday, July 3 at the Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge.

Tim Fuller won Friday evening at The Brewerton Speedway, taking the lead away from Steve Hulsizer with two laps left in the 35-lap feature event for big-block modifieds. Fuller had to pick his way through the entire field after being involved in a lap five tangle that forced him to restart at the back of the pack.

Hulsizer settled for second, with Stewart Friesen third at the wire. Rookie Kevin Bates was fourth, with Jimmy Phelps coming home fifth. Tim McCreadie was in attendance aboard the Sweeteners Plus No. 39 and finished tenth overall.

The Cayuga County Fair Speedway hosts Student Night tonight, with all students between the ages of 10-18 admitted free of charge. (Children under 10 years of age are always admitted free.)

A regular slate of big-block modifieds, sportsman, street stocks, and four-cylinder endures are joined by the mod lites. Race time is 7 p.m.
