New Hope Antiques to host yard sale
New Hope Antiques will kick off a monthly yard sale for local charities beginning Saturday, July 1, on the shop's property on state Route 41A. Organizers will offer the sales from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the first Saturday of each month, when weather permits. Private or commercial vendors may also peddle their goods for a $20 fee.
The money collected will benefit local charities, with the first sale benefiting the Finger Lakes and Cortland SPCA chapters. For information, call 497-2688.
FSA office reminds producers to report
The Farm Service Agency in Cayuga County reminds producers to report prevented or failed acreage to the FSA county office.
To ensure eligibility for farm programs, producers need to report all crop acreage before July 17. Acreage reports are required for program eligibility and mandatory for FSA participants.
Prevented planting because of wet field conditions or a natural disaster should be reported to the FSA office within 15 days of the final planting date of that crop. Producers also need to contact the agency for the final planting dates for soybeans, small grains, fruits and vegetables for their county.
Scholarship group accepts applications
The Cayuga County Retired Teachers Association will accept applications until July 1 for its annual scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is available to college juniors and seniors planning to enter the field of education.
For more information, contact Tom Eldred, 10 Center St., Union Springs, NY 13160; or call him at 889-7737.
