Marshall loves water and home to call his own
Each Sunday, The Citizen features a pet which is available for adoption.
This week, we spotlight Marshall from the Finger Lakes SPCA.
Marshall
Age: 6 years
Breed: Chocolate Lab
Comments from the SPCA: Marshall came to the shelter as an owner surrender a short time ago. He is a big boy, and it just wasn't working in his previous home where there are small children. So he has to be re-homed. Marshall is up to date on his vaccinations and is heart-worm negative. He is not yet neutered, but he must be prior to leaving the shelter.
Anyone interested in Marshall can visit with him at the FLSPCA-CNY, located at 41 York St. or call the shelter at 253-5841.
The current fee for Marshall is $110.50, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing, licensing and a $50 refundable neuter deposit. If Marshall is adopted after he is neutered, the fee will be $72.50.
Q. Describe your favorite toy?
A. Since I came to the shelter, I have discovered this wonderful stick that I run and find when the staff throws it.
Q. Do you like playing inside or outside?
A. I love to be outside for walks and runs and downtime, but I'm a house hound at heart - so I need to be inside at night and during inclement weather.
Q. What is your favorite kind of treat?
A. I'm a pretty simple guy, so I like plain old biscuits for treats - but really big ones.
Q. Chicken or fish?
A. Neither, I like liver flavored treats best.
Q. What is your favorite things to do?
A. Jump into my water bucket and splash it all over me - especially when it's really hot.
Q. Fill in the blank. At first glance, some people may mistake me for a _____. Why?
A. I overheard someone say that I remind them of a dish of chocolate pudding - that's entirely possible.
Q. Are you more comfortable around men or women, boys or girls?
A. Because of my previous circumstances, I would live most comfortably without young children. Older teens would be okay though. I get along with other dogs and cats well too.
Q. How often do you like to be groomed?
A. I would like a brushing every day and a warm bath and nail clipping occasionally. This way I can keep up my handsome appearance.
Q. If there's one thing you don't enjoy it's _____?
A. Not having a family to call my own.
Q. Fill in the blank. My ideal owner would be _______ ?
A. While everyone here has been very nice to me, I am wasting my time here. I have lots of energy and need to spend that energy running after a stick that my new guardians throw for me.
