Horse Pullers host event in Cato
New York State Horse Pullers Association will host a horse pull at 1 p.m. today at the tractor pull field, Route 34 in Cato.

Two classes of horses will compete. Food and beverages will be available, provided by the Cato Fire Department. Admission is $5; free to children 12 and under.

Benefit planned for Ethan Moore

The Knights of Columbus Auburn Council No. 207 is planning a Party in the Parking Lot featuring Tuff Luck from 8 to midnight June 30, to benefit Ethan Moore, 2, son of Jim and Tracy Moore of Auburn. The donation is $5.

Special radio concert is July 4

A special radio concert will be broadcast from 8 a.m. to noon July 4, on WDWN 89.1. The broadcast will feature traditional American marches, classical selections, broadway tunes and much more.

The concert will be hosted by Paul Saltarello. The Saltarello's are the hosts of the Italian-American Program Carolsella Italiano every Sunday morning on 89.1.

Boater's Safety taught in Scipio

Scipio Water Rescue will sponsor a Boater's Safety Class from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 9, at the Scipio Firehouse. Call John Nedza to register at 364-7251.

YMCA offers babysitting class

The YMCA on 27 William St. will offer a babysitting class for boys and girls 11 and older. The five-week class starts at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12.

State Fair concert tickets on sale

Tickets for New York State Fair Cingular Wireless Concert Series at the Mohegan Sun Grandstand are on sale at the fair box office, and all Ticketmaster locations as well as on-line at ticketmaster.com.

Support acts for two of the recently announce shows have been finalized. Opening for Jeff Foxworthy on Aug. 24 will be Jeff Bates, while the Pussycat Dolls will be on the bill with The Black Eyed Peas on Aug. 27.

The box office will be open 9 a.m. #to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for cash and credit card sales.

Tickets can also be purchased by calling Ticketmaster Charge-by-Phone

at 472-0700.

The fair runs Aug. 24 to Sept. 4.

Crafters needed for Community Days

Vendors and crafters are needed for community days sponsored by the Montezuma Fire Department and VFW, on Aug. 25, 26 and 27.

Bring tables and a tent. Rental space is $20. To reserve a table or for more information, call 776-9795.

Documentary launches series

The documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” will launch the new film series partnering Ithaca College's Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival with the 7th Art Corporation. The first screening is 7 p.m. June 30, at Cinemapolis Center Ithaca on the Ithaca Commons. The showing will be followed by a public forum for adult discussion. Admission to the screening is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with ticket sales beginning at 6:30 p.m.
