J. Chris Buscher has been named executive director of the United Way of Cayuga County. Buscher, 50, is currently the vice president for community initiatives at the United Way of Central New York in Syracuse. He has been a United Way employee for 13 years. Buscher's salary will be $50,000.

American Indian artifacts dating back 7,000 years, have been found at Welch Allyn Inc.'s 30-acre construction site off

Jordan and County Line roads.The town planning board will determine if Welch Allyn may move forward with its expansion in light of the discovery.
