An Auburn Fire Department rescue truck is temporarily out of service after a city maintenance pickup truck made a left-hand turn into the passenger side of the rescue truck Thursday morning.
The rescue truck was following an engine northbound on North Street responding to a

priority one medical call at Oakcreek Townhomes around 11:30 a.m.

The driver of the southbound city pickup truck pulled over as the engine went by, but the driver failed to see the rescue truck before smacking into the truck's side during a left-hand turn onto Standart Avenue.

Fire officials said residents should watch for more than one emergency vehicle when pulling over to obey emergency lights and sirens.

No one was injured and no tickets were issued by the Auburn Police Department.

The APD did not release the name of the drivers Thursday.

" I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THAT CITY WORKER DID NOT GET A TICKET. ISN'T FAILURE TO YEILD THE RIGHT AWAY TO AN EMERGENCY VECHILE? IF IT WAS ME I WOULD GET A TICKET. ISN'T THAT POLITICS FOR YOU. WAS THAT CITY VECHILE INSPECTED THE AUBUEN DOT? PROBABLY NOT. I THINK ALL CITY, COUNTY AND STATE VECHILES SHOULD BE STOPPED BY AUBRUN DOT JUST LIKE EVERY TRUCK DRIVE THAT DRIVES IN THE CITY ON AUBURN "
