Eight-run inning sparks Printery

AUBURN - An eight-run fourth inning, including Stephen Giannotta's two-run homer was the difference for Printery in an 11-10 win over Michaels & Smolak in a Pony League baseball game Wednesday.
Giannotta and T.J. Barannick led Printery with two hits and three RBIs each. Trent Valentino knocked in two RBIs on two hits, and Billy Farrington and Jordan Tabone each had an RBI. Brett Lowe fanned six batters, and Baranick struck out six in the final two innings to get the save.

For Smolak's, Joe Messina, Noah Hutchings and Zach Siraruse each had a hit.

AFCU 5, Elks Club 4

Nick McQueeney's triple in the sixth inning drove in the game-winning run for AFCU.

Skippy Fasce singled and homered for, and also fanned four batters. Mark Bachman struck out five. Chris Stoddard played strong defense and made a great catch.

For Elks, Connor Crehan hit a home run, Christian Bozek doulbed, and Matt Brooks had a double and a single. Bozek had four strikeouts, and Ivan Dawleyt pitched six strikeouts.

AUBURN LITTLE LEAGUE

Kayn Design 14, Nucor 4

Liam Grzasko, Jimmy Spinelli and Anthony Sheets each had three hits, and Matt Colella had nine strikeouts in the win. Connor Herr and Matt Carberry each added two hits, and Thomas Stanton and Anthony Brown added a hit apiece.

For Nucor, Cole Bardreau had two hits, and Nick Price and Jeremy Stroup each had a hit.

BOYS AND GIRLS LEAGUE

Byrne Dairy Mets 14,

Tarby's Mowing Pirates 13

Connor Coleman (double), Dominic DiFabio, Nicole Lupo and Michael Morrisey (three RBIs) each smashed three hits for the Mets.

After assisting with retiring all three batters in the fifth inning, Alex Casper was praised for his play on defense.

For the Pirates, Emily Lawton and J.J. Baker had three hits apiece. Gianna Galbally, Ricky Currier, Chris Rusin and Jack Kalabanka had two apiece.

The Printery Yankees 18, Finger Lakes Dermatology 18

Kyler Viggiano had two hits for the Yankees, and Nate Lupo played well on defense.

For the Sox, John Duffy had three hits, Michael Procino had two hits, and Abby Lowe had a big base-hit. Bridget Moore played strong defense.

Morgan Foster Agency Rangers 15,

Gaston-Moore Twins 14

Down by five runs going into the fifth inning, the Twins rallied back and scored enough to tie the contest, but the Rangers scored in the bottom of the inning to win.

Daryin Cunningham and Carlie Vatter led the Rangers with three hits each, and Mackenzie Murphy played well on defense.

For the Twins, Jacob Maltese, Skyler Sliwka and Adrian Brown had three hits each.

SANDLOT

Byrne Dairy 6, Butler Services 3

Matt Tehan (triple), Paul Quinn (double), Cody Tiredette and C.J. Carr each belted RBIs for Byrne. Savannah Hinman also contributed to the win with a base hit.

Shane Allen pitched well for Butler, and Marissa Kopp contributed with good defensive play. Waylin Jones hit a single.

BABE RUTH

Auburn Federal Credit Union 5,

Giuseppe's Pizzeria 2

AFCU's Chris Catino pitched a complete game, allowing just one hit while fanning 14 batters in the win.

Brian Brazee led the team with a double, and Nick Pesarchick, Matt Festa and Joe McQueeney all chipped in with a hit each.

Steve Komanecky pitched well for Giuseppe's, yielding just four hits and striking out 13 batters. Zach Cousineau had the lone hit for the team.
