Mel Stottlemyre and Leo Pinckney have been selected as the 2006 inductees for the first-ever class of the Auburn Doubledays Wall of Fame. The two were selected by fans who cast their votes on the Internet.
No date has been set for the ceremony, but it will be during a Doubledays home game this season.

Pinckney, whose name is virtually synonymous with Auburn baseball, is one of the main reasons baseball came to Auburn in the first place.

He has been the president of the New York-Penn League and the Auburn Doubledays, and still supports the team whenever he can.

Stottlemyre pitched for the Auburn Yankees in 1962 and went 4-3 with a 3.72 ERA.

He then went on to become one of the most knowledgeable men in the game for pitching.

He won more than 20 games three times in his 11-year career, and is sixth all time on the Yankees win list with 164.

Stottlemyre was part of five World Series wins as a pitching coach with the Mets and Yankees.
