Russ Adams' stint in Syracuse was short but productive.
The former Auburn Doubleday, who was optioned to the SkyChiefs on May 24, is back in the majors. The shortstop was recalled by the Toronto Blue Jays Monday.

Adams appeared in 17 games for Toronto's Triple-A affiliate, all at second base, batting .338 with six RBIs in 68 at-bats. That came after struggling to open the season, batting just .258 with two home runs and 17 RBIs in 120 at-bats.

Adams played in Auburn in 2002 and hit .354 with 16 RBIs and 25 runs in 30 games. He played 22 games for Toronto in 2004, before becoming the regular starter in 2005.

" I think it would be of interest to know exactely what happens when some one such as Russ Adams gets optioned to a lower league. He is probably earning a lot of money as an up and coming young ball player with a very bright future in the majors. Because he is with Toronto there may be a lessening of the net amount he receives because of the Canadian Dollar situation versus American money but then all of a sudden he gets sent down to Syracuse. Leo probably knows the ins and outs of it all but I know I don't and I figure it would be of interest to other fans too. Thanx. "
