A casino would be a boost to Auburn - if people abuse it - they will find a place to go throw their money away anyway, so why not help the city financially? If homes and businesses deteriorate, city should get after owners/landlords to keep places up to codes or face stiff penalty.

To the person who objected to getting a Kohl's and other stores in the area, her worries about losing valuable farmland is representative of several people over the years who have retarded Auburn's and Cayuga County's industrial, commercial, cultural and educational growth. If she looks a quarter-mile down the road, she'll encounter farmland and “natural beauty” as far as the eye can see.
The curve in the road heading up East Genesee Street is bad enough with cars cutting over the double yellow line and into oncoming traffic. Because of this I don't think cars should be allowed to park in front of Dunkin Donuts and have the rear end sticking out; they do have a parking lot.

First our government assesses the taxes on poor people so high they put them in the gutter, then another government agency runs around trying to feed and shelter poor people in the gutter. You figure it out.

Four groups that are really hurting Auburn and America all start with UN: The United Nations, undocumented workers, the Unitarian church and unfunded mandates.

With these high gas prices, it's smart to think about building up our city and county because people are not going to be able to spend the money to travel to these places like Syracuse and Rochester, to go to restaurants and attractions.

Another stupid Red Sox fan claiming the Yankees will never win another World Series for a century --- how will we ever know? Just remember, it didn't take us a century to win one.

To current and past city councilors - years of zero tax increases = budget shortfall. It's not the workers fault.

Auburn schools always seems to blame its low test scores on its ‘diversity,' but Auburn isn't diverse. Please.

The Citizen needs to update and reprint its insert of about 10 years ago containing all public servants salaries. And speaking of “great benefits,” do you pay $412 a month for employer sponsored family health coverage?

The law upped the drinking age and no smoking in bars, so what did that do? Sends these underage people to homes and elsewhere to drink all the alcohol they want, and then they drive, speed or get in accidents and kill themselves or someone else.

Hurray for Aurelius, they are bringing in a wonderful new department store: Kohl's is one of the best. Hurry, we need it badly.
