Four Auburnians won five gold medals in tennis during the Empire State Senior Games held at Cortland this weekend.
Sue Cunliffe took home a gold medal in two events. In the women's 60-64 doubles competition, she teamed up with Jeanne Poole and topped the No. 1 seed, 6-4, 7-6. Cunliffe also played with Walt Schoonmaker in the mixed doubles 60-64 division to upset the top-seeded husband-wife duo from Norwich, 6-4, 6-3.

Bob Weldon won the gold in the men's 85-89 division, blanking his New York City opponent, 6-0, 6-0.

The local winners are now eligible to play in the National Senior Games, which will be held at Louisville, Ky., in June, 2007.
