Auburn Assembly of God, 3141 E. Genesee St. Road, is a small but growing Pentecostal congregation that's been around for almost 60 years. They range in age from newborns and toddlers through school children, teens and young adults. They have an active children#'s church program for ages 5 to 11. They have an enthusiastic youth group, young and older families, singles of all ages and the elderly. They believe God has great plans for Auburn, and they want to help make them happen.
The Rev. Samuel Moore, of Worldwide Harvest Church in New York City, will be guest speaker Sunday, sharing his vision of what God is doing in New York City. This church has many outreaches ranging from the affluent of Wall Street to college students and homosexuals. This visit may lead to a short mission trip to NYC for members of the Auburn Assembly of God. I hope to have more details for you after Moore's visit. Thank you to Leslie Parker and also the Rev. Rick Kiddy for sharing your news.
€ The Auburn Alliance Church, 620 N. Seward Ave., reports the arrival of a new assistant pastor, the Rev. Jim Main. He will be assisting the Rev. Dave Richter, the church pastor. We would like to welcome Main to Auburn and wish him every success as he does God's work here in our town.

€ The Sacrament of the Annointing of the Sick will be held this week at both St. Alphonsus and Holy Family churches. This sacrament is for anyone who has a chronic or life threatening illness, whether it is physical or psychological, anyone receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy, or anyone who will be undergoing surgery. Caregivers along with anyone who wishes to pray with us are also welcome. It will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, at Holy Family Church on North Street, and at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at St. Alphonsus Church on East Genesee Street.
€ St. Mary's Church, 15 Clark St., is hosting Musica Spei (Music of Hope), a choral group specializing in Renaissance music at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 4. The concert, titled “In Paradisum,” will feature the “Requiem” by Tomas Luis de Victoria. Admission is free, donations are welcome.
€ The Soup Supper for Hunger Awareness Day is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 5, at First Love Ministries, 99 Wall St. Please come and share a bowl of delicious soup. There is no charge, but bring a canned good for the “stone soup.” One in every five people in New York state go to bed hungry and in Cayuga County it is one in three, with 55 percent of them children and 20 percent senior citizens. Auburn has experienced a large increase in the number of people needing social services.
Many are working families that are having a tough time juggling rent, utilities, high gas prices and food. There are 15 pantries in Cayuga County and six of them are in Auburn. There are also three soup kitchens.
God bless you for all that you do for those in our community who are less fortunate.
Have a nice week everyone, and remember God loves you so very much.
