WINDSOR - Bryan McClary came away with two first place finishes for the Union Springs track and field team at the Section IV, Class C Meet at Windsor on Thursday.
McClary earned Class C Champion in the high jump (6-4) and was the anchor in the first place 4x100 relay team (44.8). Also sharing in the relay win were Cheol Kessler, Vincent Solato and Mike Howell. McClary was also a hair away from taking the title in the 100-meter dash as he finished with a second place time of 11.3 and the winning 100m time was 11.1. Joel Terry was the only other member of the boys team to place in the meet, with a seventh place finish in the 800-meter dash (2:08.00).
On the girls side for the Wolves, Monica Sacco places second in the 400-meter dash (60.9) and fourth in the 800-meter dash (2:27.5).
Moravia also competed in the 25 team meet and had three members from the girls teams place. Amber Murphy finished as the Class C Champion in the shot put event (32-6) and she placed second in the discus (99-11). Jen Cornwell was the fifth place thrower in the shot put (31-11 1/2),
For the third time in as many weeks, Blue Devils runner Kerrin Epstein broke a new school record in the 3,000-meter run (10:55.5) and earned a fourth place finish.
On the boys team, Bobby Sovocool placed fifth in the shot put with his best distance of the season (44-9). Next up for both teams will be the State Qualifying meet at Binghamton High School on Thursday. Sacco, McClary and the 4x100 relay team will be attending for the Wolves, while Murphy, Epstein, Sovocool and Martin Beck will be among those representing the Blue Devils.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Skaneateles 19, South Jefferson 4
SKANEATELES - Libby Johnson and Stephanie Rice scored four goals each for Skaneateles in the team's Section III, Class C quarterfinals win. Johnson also threw three assists.
Maggie Tierney and Laura Trenti tossed three goals each, while Shannon Tierney and Emma Hueber scored twice. Shannon also added an assist. Amy Riehlman scored once and Kelsey Nangle (two), Jenna Lotkowictz (one) and Karen Vitkus (two) all had assists.
Gigi Vaughn had three saves in goal in the first half and Whitney Johnson had two in the second.
Skaneateles will face the winner of the Marcellus/Bishop Ludden game Tuesday at Henninger High School.
BASEBALL
Oxford 14, Union Springs 5
OXFORD - Ryan Driscoll got the loss for the Wolves in the Section IV playoff loss.
Driscoll and Joe Czornig both hit a double and two RBIs, while Matt Orman had a triple.
Port Byron 15, LaFayette 1

LAFAYETTE - Mitch David pitched the complete first game of the doubleheader on Wednesday, fanning nine batters and allowing three walks.
The Panthers collected 17 hits in the first game as Nick Janusz, Dan Jefferds and Kevin Casler all roped two doubles and Janusz also smacked a triple. Tab Carmon, Kent Pitcher had two singles and David hit a double and two singles.
In the second game, Casler earned six strikeouts and allowed just five hits. Port Byron tied the game at four in the sixth inning and won when Matt Cornish squeezed home Nick Janusz (two hits), who had singled, stolen second and advanced to third on a ground out.
Pitcher had a single and double in the game, while Carmon roped two singles.
Port Byron finished their season with a 7-12 record.
BOYS GOLF
Southern Cayuga placed eighth out of 16 teams in the IAC Championships on Wednesday. Jordan Dean and Zack Wood carded identical 91 scores and Lewis Morse was right behind them, shooting a 92.
Casey Underwood shot a 97, Art Burt turned in a 98 and Ben Shaw carded a 100.
JV SOFTBALL
Marcellus 4, Skaneateles 3
SKANEATELES - Emily Ross threw a complete game for Skaneateles, with six strikeouts and allowing three hits.
After rallying to win their last two games, the Lakers made another valiant attempt, scoring three runs in the third inning but ran out of gas.
Caryn Crary had two hits and two stolen bases for the Lakers. Britton Weber also roped two hits, including an RBI triple and Jackie Stucker smashed an RBI single.
Skaneateles (11-6) is at Westhill on Wednesday.
