Thruway warns of heavy holiday traffic
New York wants drivers to stay mindful they'll face heavier-than-normal vehicular traffic during Memorial Day Weekend. The New York State Thruway Authority has suspended construction and deployed additional personnel on the road to assist the anticipated heavy volume of travelers, according to Michael R. Fleischer, who heads the state Thruway Authority.
Motorists should listen to traffic information by tuning their vehicle radios to the following frequencies: Albany and Buffalo areas 1610 AM, and Syracuse area 1620 AM. For up-to-date road condition information, call (800) 847-8929, or log onto www.nysthruway.gov.
