A Port Byron man has been arrested and charged on two felonies: second-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny.
Detectives from the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office took Travis L. Wright, 29, into custody May 9.
Wright, of 27 Church St., Port Byron, is accused of stealing computer equipment and cash from another residence in the Church Street Apartments, where he lived.
The alleged theft occurred the morning of Wright's arrest.
Wright was being sought for questioning in an unrelated incident when the burglary was reported. Assisted by state police investigators, sheriff's detectives located Wright at a residence in the town of Throop later that afternoon.
A joint investigation between the sheriff's office and the state police lead to the execution of a search warrant at a Wayne County residence. A subsequent search at that residence uncovered stolen property from several burglaries, including firearms. Investigators' review of other cases may result in additional charges against Wright.
The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information pertinent to the case to contact Detective Smith at 253-1610 or 253-4869.
