In presenting the distinguished alumni awards to four former Cayuga Community College students, college president Dennis Golladay reminded this year's graduating class that "there is life after today and a good life."
CCC graduates Sunday had plans for the future as diverse as becoming a disc jockey, aspiring to work for the FBI and starting a career a registered nurse.
The 52nd annual CCC commencement was held at Spartan Hall Sunday afternoon, with the Syracuse Scottish Pipe Band leading graduates in the procession and recessional.
Graduate Jennifer Moody, of Oswego, decided to attend CCC for two years as a way to figure out what she wanted to do for a career.
"I didn't want to go to college. I didn't know what I wanted to do," Moody said, "(Two years at CCC) helped me figure out what I wanted to do with my life."
For Moody, that means attending SUNY-Brockport to study psychology. Moody said she wanted to concentrate in criminal psychology and had aspirations of possibly working for the FBI.
