WEEDSPORT- Dale Planck has won a lot of races at a lot of different speedways throughout central New York, but until yesterday, he'd never stood in victory lane at The Cayuga County Fair Speedway. Planck rectified that situation Sunday afternoon after making his second start ever aboard the Jeff Isabell owned No. 7, cruising to the 35-lap Taylor Rental-big-block modified win.

“I've never been in victory lane at Weedsport ever, let alone a daytime show, Planck said. ”I cannot thank Jeff Isabell enough for this. He does all of the set-ups and he knows what he is doing. He told me just to go out there and have fun, this is the most fun I've had in a long time.“
Planck's first start in the Bicknell-chassis modified came the previous night at Fulton Speedway, where he finished ninth. Isabell called Planck earlier in the day and had asked if he wanted to drive the car.
“We're taking it race by race, ” Planck said. “I hope I'll be driving it at least for the next race.”
Planck started the race third overall and displaced his teammate Joe Isabell for second place on lap four. Planck then moved past early leader Billy Dunn on a lap five restart and built up a huge lead on the field.
While Planck was out front, Tim Fuller was working his way forward from 12th on the unusually dusty 3-8-mile clay oval. Fuller passed Vinnie Vitale Jr. for third spot on lap 17 and then claimed the runner-up slot from Dunn 10 laps later.
Fuller looked to be closing on Planck, but with a handful of laps remaining, it appeared he would not have enough time to track down the leader.
Then Jordan's Todd Town smacked the fourth turn wall on the white flag lap, bringing out the race's fourth caution period and staging a one-lap dash for the winner's share.
Fuller got a wheel underneath Planck's car as they raced through turns three and four for the final time, but Planck had enough momentum to prevail for the popular win.
Fuller settled for second place, followed by Dunn who turned in a stellar effort to finish third. Alan Johnson garnered his third consecutive fourth-place finish of the weekend. Vitale completed the top five finishers.
Matt Sheppard was sixth, trailed by two more of Isabell's hired guns, Tom Sears Jr. and Danny Johnson, in seventh and eighth,
respectively. The Phelps cousins rounded out the top ten competitors, with Jimmy coming home ninth and Ryan tenth.
Tommy Juhl also notched his first-career triumph at CCFS in the 20-lap sportsman main. John Juhl Jr. was second, with Rob Bellinger finishing third. Early leader Mike Bowman came back from a flat left rear tire to claim fourth, and Joe August was credited with fifth spot.
Doug Williams picked up his third win of the weekend in the 15-lpa Mod-lite main, passing Kevin Doll after initially losing the lead to Doll earlier in the race. Kenny Gamlin was third.
Frank “Bubba” Burnell won the 12-lap street stock feature over Nate Peckham and Nick Rizzo. Barb Amidon beat out Nick and Bill Werner to win the 25-lap Pitstop Enduro.
The Cayuga County Fair Speedway falls silent next week as the racing action moves over to Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge for the second stop on the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series trail.
Twin 50-lap features are slated for the big-block modifieds, with the sportsman and street stocks rounding out the bill. Race time is 2 p.m.
