Colleen Ryan had another stellar pitching performance as she tossed a complete game (12 strikeouts, six hits) for the Jordan-Elbridge softball team in a win over division rival Westhill, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning on Friday. Ryan now has 899 career strikeouts as a junior.
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the Eagles trailing 2-1, Elizabeth Caspari and Sarah Fordyce singled, and then Rachel Graf was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Westhill pitcher Jessica Ouderkirk tried to pick off Caspari at third base, but the ball was overthrown into left field, allowing Caspari to score the tying run. With one ball and two strikes, Ryan smacked an infield single to win the game and keep Jordan-Elbridge undefeated.

The first-place Eagles (6-0) travel to Hannibal (3-3) today for another division matchup.
