Warriors girls still undefeated

FABIUS - The Weedsport girls track and field team kept its winning streak alive with an 89-52 win over Fabius Pompey Wednesday.
Kim Gilfus took first in the 100-meter hurdles (17.9), 400-meter hurdles (77.1) and ran a leg on the first-place finishing 4x100 relay with Rochelle Wetmore, Maria Barbaglia nad Allison Beardsley (55.3).

Wetmore also took first in the 100-meter dash (13.4) and 200-meter dash (28.8), and Katie Scarbrough was the top finisher in the 3,000-meter run (13:54).

Beardsley was first in the long jump (13-11), Barbaglia was first in the discus (94-6), Sarah Lewis took first in the shot put (28-6.5) and Sarah Wignall was first in the pole vault (7-6).

Weedsport (6-0) competes at the Moravia Relays Saturday.

CATO - Lisa Cole was tops in the 1,500-meter run (5:38), 800-meter run (2:39) and 3,000-meter run (12:28) for the Blue Devils.

Cole also ran a leg of the first-place finishing 4x400 relay with Ashley Marshall, Jennifer Manolis and Ashley Gillis.

Renate Mandy was first in the long jump (13-9.5), and Shelby Klaben had the longest throw in the shot put (26-3).

The Blue Devils (3-1) compete in the Phoenix Relays Friday.

Skaneateles 99, Marcellus 41

SKANEATELES - Megan Carlberg finished first in the high jump (4-8) and the triple jump (32-4).

Talia Rooney took first in the long jump (15-1), Morgan Ellithorpe won the pole vault (6-0), Alexis Mazzeo won the shot put (27-8.5), Ellen Meyer won the discut (76-10.5), Hannah Waite took first in the 3,000M (10:51.9), Grace Vanderven won the 800M (2:33.6), Julie Dmochowski took first in the 400M, and Christina Homeyer won the 1500M (5:12.7).

Beatrice Walton, Kristin Roberts, Kelsey Eshleman and Vanderven won the 4x800 relay (10:24.8), Nina Davidson, Eschleman, Carlie Baulick and Rooney won the 4x400 relay (4:29.8) and Glocker, Rooney, Stephanie Wisniewski and Devon Kerr won the 4x100 relay (54.6).

Skaneateles (2-1) competes Friday at the Phoenix Relays.

CATO - Nate Modafferi ran on three first-place relays and took an individual event in the Blue Devils' win.

Modafferi won the 400-meter run (57.2) and ran on the 4x800 relay with Ryan Prosser, Sean Peckham and Ivan Rojo (10:01), the 4x100 with David O'Neill, John Murphy and Nathan Blake (48.2), and the 4x400 with Peckham, O'Neill and Blake (3:51.2). O'Neill also won the 100-meter dash (11.9), and the 200-meter dash (23.5). Peckham won the 800-meter run (2:21)

Tim Hughes won the 110 hurdles (17.9) and the 1,600-meter run (5:13.5).

The Blue Devils (3-1) compete in the Phoenix Relays Friday.

Weedsport 90, Fabius Pompey 51

FABIUS - Nick VanWie won the 400-meter run (55.3), 200-meter run (23.8) and triple jump (40-4.5) in the Warriors' win.

Josh Galletta added a pair of victories in the 100-meter dash (11.4) and long jump (20-5.5), and Sean Daly also had two wins: the 1,600-meter run (5:07) and 3,200-meter run (11:20).

Jim Bos won the 800-meter run (2:12), and tied for first in the high jump with Zach Nevidomsky (5-6). Brian Guziewicz took first in the 400 hurdles (66.2).

In the relays, the team of Galletta, John Mietz, Kerry Green and Craig Metz finished first (46.8), as did the 4x400 team of Josh Arnold, Zach Field, Jordan Petrocci and Devon Rickert (4:10).

Weedsport (5-1) competes at the Moravia Relays Saturday.

SKANEATELES - Carson Sio finished first in the 110 high hurdles (17.6) and was part of the winning 4x400 relay (3:45.9) that also included Josey Witter, Ben Arold and Sam Smolenski.

Nic Russell won the pole vault (9-0), Linus Walton won the shot put (45-6.5) and the discus (108-10), Witter took first in the high jump (5-8), and Patrick Rooney won the triple jump (37-5).

Skaneateles will participate Friday at the Phoenix Relays.

SYRACUSE - Andy DeGray led the Eagles with wins in the high jump (5-4), triple jump (39-1) and the long jump (18-5).

Ron Recckio won the shot put (37-10) and the discus (96-4), Chris Weingarth took first in the 1600M (5:10.4) and Steve Heffernan won the pole vault (8-0).

The Eagles' Jason Lazore, Jesse Cases, Brendan Hogan and Carl McLain won the 4x100 relay (54.3).
