WEEDSPORT - The Weedsport baseball team scored all of its runs in the first two innings and held on for the team's first victory of the season in a 6-5 win over Onondaga on Monday.
Jeff Bibbens pitched a complete game, striking out 10 batters and giving up just three hits and two earned runs. He also had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with one RBI and a double.
Mike Coolbaugh smacked his first home run of the season in his three RBI afternoon. Bryce Leitten also had two RBIs.
Weedsport (1-3) plays Port Byron in the Cayuga County Tournament at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Skaneateles 10, Hannibal 4
SKANEATELES - John Dougherty pitched six innings for the Lakers and struck out seven batters, gave up eight hits, three walks and four earned runs.
Mike Persarchick had a standout performace at the plate, hitting a home run, four RBIs, a double and scoring three runs. He was also hit by two pitches. Josh Sherman and Andrew Bojko also had an RBI and Eric Shaeffer scored three runs and had two stolen bases.
Skaneateles (4-0, 6-1) is at Solvay on Friday.
Union Springs 22, Southern Cayuga 2, 5 innings
POPLAR RIDGE - Caleb Lyndaker and Chris Fleming combined for seven strikeouts and gave up just six hits for Union Springs.
The Wolves combined for 16 hits in the shortened game; Marc Rodriguez hit a double and five RBIs, Eric Johnson hit four RBIs and Jeff Covich hit a double, triple and three RBIs.
Union Springs (3-4) host Moravia on Friday.
Lansing 11, Moravia 5
MORAVIA - Dustin LeFave pitched 4 2/3 innings and struck out four batters but gave up two walks, 11 hits and eight earned runs.
The Blue Devils had just four hits and two errors in the game. Greg Langtry hit an RBI, Tim Nervina had one hit and Joel Mackey hit a double. Moravia drops to 5-2 on the season.
Oswego 11, Auburn 9
OSWEGO - The Maroons led the game three different times, but mistakes in the field led to nine unearned runs to help the Buccaneers.
“We just couldn't hold on to it,” Auburn coach Ed Gremli said. “We made too many mistakes and let them back into it.”
Dan Zambito powered the offense with a two-run home run, and Greg Feocco added a solo shot.
Steve Deyo was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double, Kurt Handley was 2-for-3 with two runs, and Ryan Gleason was 1-for-3 and scored.
The Maroons (1-2 league, 2-5 overall) host Union Endicott Friday at Falcon Park as part of the Auburn Falcon Park Tournament. Central Square and Lansing will also compete.
Tully 7, Port Byron 3
PORT BYRON - Tab Carmon led the Panthers with two hits, while Dan Jefferds had a hit and an RBI and Nick Janusz went 1-for-4.
Port Byron's Kevin Casler pitched six innings and struck out seven while allowing six earned runs.
Tully took a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning and scored three in the seventh to ensure the victory. The Panthers had several scoring chances but couldn't pick up a big hit.
Port Byron (1-7) plays Weedsport in the Cayuga County Tournament Friday.

AUBURN - Eric Conway picked up the win for the Maroons with five innings pitched and 13 strikeouts.
Noah Donch (double) and Anthony Siracusa each had three hits for Auburn while Ryan Larue, J.D. Larue, C.J. Shaw and Conway each had two hits.
Shaw struck out two in two innings of relief.
