Brown to appear on cable news show
There will be a special edition of “Beyond the Front Page with Guy Cosentino” at 8 p.m. tonight on Adelphia channel 11, with Assemblyman Jeff Brown, who is running against Sen. David Valesky in November.

This is part of a new series of shows introducing candidates to the public before the fall campaign.

The Brown interview will be replayed on Tuesday, May 2, at 8:30, following the broadcast of the Auburn Enlarged City School District candidate forum.

Children's IDs to be available this week

Parents can get identification cards for children from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 28; and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Auburn Holiday Inn as part of Operation Safe Child, a voluntary identification program allowing law enforcement to quickly access a child's identifying features in case of an emergency.

A child safety seat and booster seat fitting will also be offered during both sessions.

The event is being held in conjunction with a four-day DARE conference, in cooperation with the Auburn Police Department, Seneca Falls Police Department and Cayuga County Sheriff's Office.

Author to sign ‘Seinology' book

Auburn native Tim Delaney will sign copies of his new book, “Seinology: The Sociology of Seinfeld,” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, at Waldenbooks in the Fingerlakes Mall on Routes 5 and 20 in Aurelius.

He will also appear at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Yesteryears Coffee House and Cafe.

This lecture is free and open to the public. Delaney is currently a member of the sociology department at the State University of New York at Oswego and used characters from the sitcom “Seinfeld” to interest his students.
