Auburn can't keep up with Corcoran
AUBURN - Not many teams can rival the speed of the Auburn girls lacrosse team. On Tuesday, the Corcoran Cougars not only kept up with the Maroons, they nearly shut down Auburn's transition game.
The undefeated Cougars dominated the draws and allowed the Maroons no easy looks on goal in a 21-11 victory at Holland Stadium. A majority of the action took place around the Auburn net, but when the Maroons broke out, Corcoran's transition defense cut off the speedy Auburn attack.
“They're just a great team,” Auburn coach Amy Spin said of Corcoran. “In our division, they're No. 2 right now behind West Genesee. I'd love to tear into (my team) right now but they gave it their all. That's all I can ask. I'm proud of these girls.”
