Lakers drop first game of season

LIMA - The Skaneateles bats were cooled as the Lakers managed just four hits and lost their first game of the season, 5-4 to Honeoye Falls-Lima on Saturday.
Skaneateles pitcher John Dougherty pitched 6 1-3 inning but walked in the tying and winning run in the bottom of the sixth.

Josh Sherman doubled and drove in a run for the Lakers while Mike Pesarchick and Andrew Bojko each had RBIs.

The Lakers were unable to take advantage of numerous scoring opportunities.

Skaneateles drew 13 walks at the plate but left 11 runners on base.

The Lakers (3-1, 1-0) play Cazenovia at Alliance Bank Stadium Tuesday.
