MINNEAPOLIS - The New York Yankees signed infielder Carlos Pena and right-hander Jesus Colome to minor league deals on Saturday.
Both players will report to the team's spring training headquarters in Tampa, Fla., before being assigned to Triple-A Columbus.
Colome spent the last five seasons with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, going 2-3 with a 4.57 ERA in 36 appearances last season.
Pena cleared waivers from the Detroit Tigers on May 30, making him a free agent. He hit .235 with 18 home runs and 44 RBIs in 79 games with the Tigers last season.
