The Auburn school board election season is officially under way.
Joe Leogrande and Thomas McKellop picked up petition forms on the first day they were available at the school district offices Monday. A third anonymous person also picked up the petitions, according to district officials. Candidates may remain anonymous until they submit the forms, said Lori Feeney, the clerk of the school board.

Three seats - those of board members Charles Beck, Salvatore (Sam) Giangreco and Judith Freeman - are up for election in May.

Giangreco will run for election. There has been no official announcement from Beck and Freeman.

All petitions must be returned by April 26.
