Firefighters from multiple departments were busy Saturday battling a structure fire on Route 5 in the town of Sennett.
Officials were not available from the Sennett Fire Department, but reports that came in to other area departments indicated the blaze was a garage fire near the Pizza Hut restaurant.
Firefighters were struggling with the frigid temperatures, which apparently caused some hydrants to freeze. Tankers were coming into the city of Auburn to be filled with water to fight the fire.
A portion of Route 5, a main road coming into the city of Auburn from the east, had to be closed for a short time.
The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office had a fire investigation team on the scene.
