Date changed for sharp shooter
The YMCA will be offering a basketball sharp shooter contest for youths in grades 5-12 as well as an adult open division at 8 a.m. March 18.

The contest will include a free throw and three-point shot contest.

Trophies will be awarded for first and second place finishers in each category. The cost is $5 for YMCA members and $10 for the general public.

Rec softball rosters now available

Rosters for the Auburn Recreation Department's 2006 Summer Softball Program are now available at the recreation department office located in Casey Park's recreational facility.

The rosters must be completed and filed by March 28. Rosters will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 255-4120.

Babe Ruth sign ups to be held March 27

Registrations for Auburn Babe Ruth League baseball will be from 6 to 8 p.m. March 27, and April 24, at the Knights of Columbus.

Registration fee is $115 and $50 for raffle tickets.

Each player will be required to sell 10 raffle tickets.

Camp Y-Owasco open for registration

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is accepting registrations for day and resident camp sessions at Camp Y-Owasco.

The day camp is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 14 while the resident camp is available for ages 9 to 15.

Camp Y-Owasco is located on the east shore of Owasco Lake, approximately 10 miles south of Auburn. Bus transportation from neighborhood pick-up points within the city of Auburn to Camp Y-Owasco is provided for day campers each morning, with a return trip in the afternoon.

AHS Hall of Fame nominees due in June

Auburn High School Athletic Hall of Fame nominations must be submitted by June 30.

Forms are available at the Auburn athletic office, Knights of Columbus, Kostas and Lewis restaurants, Snappers and the YMCA.

Youth baseball sign ups March 18

The Boys and Girls Baseball League will be having its general registration for area children ages 5 to 8 from noon to 2 p.m. March 18, at the Auburn YMCA.

American Legion sign ups March 27

Registration for American Legion Baseball will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 27 and April 24 at the Knights of Columbus. Donations are $15 and $50 for raffle tickets and each player will be required to sell 10 raffle tickets.
