Committee promises changes to be made
The Legislature's Public Works Committee unanimously approved a resolution that promises the state Office of Mental Health action on the recent citations involving the county's mental health clinic.
Community Mental Health Services Director David Blair presented the resolution, which states the county will submit “a plan to establish suitable treatment space” for the clinic by June 30. The county contracted with Beardsley Design Associates to determine if the clinic can be renovated to state standards.
The clinic, located in the basement of the Historic Post Office Building, was recently cited for its repeat violations concerning inadequate office space. The county risks losing more than $500,000 in funding if changes are not made.
