Pancake breakfast in Union Springs
There will be a pancake breakfast to benefit the Southern Springs travel girls softball team. The breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 12 at the American Legion Post 1107 on Schobey Street in Union Springs.
The fee is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 to 12. Children and under 5 are free.
Lifeguarding class at YMCA
The Auburn YMCA-WEIU will be holding a lifeguard certification class until March 25. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The course will include CPR, first aid, AED, oxygen administration and waterfront lifeguarding. For more information, call the Auburn YMCA at 253-5304.
Basketball shooting contest March 25
The YMCA will be offering a basketball sharp shooter contest for youths in grades 5-12 as well as an adult open division at 8 a.m. March 25.
The contest will include a free throw and three-point shot contest. Trophies will be awarded for first and second place finishers in each category. The cost is $5 for YMCA members and $10 for the general public. Registrations will be accepted until March 23. For more information, contact Jeff Hanno at 253-5304.
Golf workshop to be held at Smokey's
There will be a rules of golf workshop at 7 p.m. Monday, March 13, at Smokey's Restaurant in Auburn. League representatives and any avid golfers from the area are invited to attend the discussion.
PGA professional Bill Galloway will be the speaker. The cost is $5. To reserve a ticket, call 784-5052.

Rosters for the Auburn Recreation Department's 2006 Summer Softball Program are now available at the recreation department office located in Casey Park recreational facility.
The rosters must be completed and filed by March 28. Rosters will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 255-4120.
AAU tryouts to be held March 12
Tryouts for the 2006 Central Western boys and girls AAU basketball travel team will be held at the Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls on Sunday, March 12.

Registration fee is $115 and $50 for raffle tickets. Each player will be required to sell 10 raffle tickets.
