Nozzolio secures city's energy grant

Auburn is set to receive a $100,000 state grant to help finance its $2.6 million energy-efficiency project being done in conjunction with the New York Power Authority. The funding will be used to install energy-efficient measures in 12 city-owned buildings.

The fund is administered by NYPA.

Boehlert receives environment award

EPL/Environmental Advocates, a prominent environmental watchdog in New York, presented U.S. Rep. Sherwood Boehlert with its 2005 Green Courage Award Wednesday.

“We are proud to recognize Congressman Boehlert's courageous leadership on issues like climate change, energy efficiency and energy security,” said Robert Moore, executive director of EPL/Environmental Advocates.

Boehlert's efforts were recognized in EPL/Environmental Advocates' annual voters' guide, which provides an insider's perspective on the environment and politics in New York.

The guide is available at www.eany.org.
