Busy postal season calls for cooperation
The United States Postal Service asks that area drivers watch out for mail carriers on foot or in slow moving postal vehicles as they face their busiest mailing day of the year today, and their busiest delivery day on Wednesday.
Homeowners who receive their mail from an on-foot carrier are asked to clear their sidewalks, walkways, porches and steps of snow and ice to help prevent falls.
For homeowners with mailboxes on the curb, snow and ice must be removed regularly for safe access for carriers driving vehicles.
