POPLAR RIDGE - High school students learn about the history, geology and even the culture of many places during their classes at school. Yet, for the students of Southern Cayuga High School, the learning process becomes much more real when they get the chance to visit some of the places they learned about.
The school's physical education teacher, Cathy Murray, along with three other teachers, formed the Adventure Club five years ago, as a way to get the students more involved in the learning process.
“We study and learn about the different places that we visit,” Murray said. “Although the trips are strongly-connected to the science and physical education curricula, there are many other subjects involved.”
