Wells College swimmers win
The Wells College women's swim team defeated Chatham College 108-95 on Saturday.

Liz Young paced the Express with a pair of victories, she took the 200 free (2:14.19) and the 500 free (5:55).

Alyssa Lowe won the 1,000 free (14:16.26).

Julie Wittenzellner took the 50 free (27.83).

Emily Marzeski was victorious in the 200 butterfly (3:19.24).

Vicky Sherwood was tops in the 200 breaststroke (3:05.94).

Wells College won the 400 free relay as Wittenzellner, Marzeski, Lowe and Young finished in 4:15.30.

YMCA offering therapy class

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU in conjunction with Master teacher Sean McLeod and the New York Institute of Dance Education is offering an Exercise and Movement Therapy workshop for athletes of all levels and abilities.

This workshop is a full body experience designed to take the athlete to the next step. It works on the concept of core strength and increased agility and reflex response. Each session consists of stretching and toning through movement.

Workshops are offered from 1 to 2 p.m. on the following dates: Friday, Nov. 25, Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Thursday, Dec. 29

AHS hockey

hosting reception

The Auburn varsity hockey team will be hosting a “Face-Off” reception to kick off the 2005-'06 varsity hockey season.

The reception will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at the Knights of Columbus.

Admission is free, the food is free and there will be raffles and prizes offered. The general public is invited.

Cheerleading

tryouts for Storm

Tryouts for the CNY Storm half-year teams will be held Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 28 and 29 at the CNY Cheer Company gym in Syracuse. The team is open to anyone in grades 3 through 12.

AHS hoops teams holding food drives

The Auburn boys and girls basketball teams are holding canned food drives on Nov. 28 and 29.

The Auburn boys play Ithaca on Nov. 28 and anyone bringing a can of food to the game will receive free admission and the same for the girls game on Nov. 29 against West Genesee. The canned food will be donated to the St. Alphonsus food pantry.

CYO H.S. hoops holding sign-ups

The CYO high school basketball league sign-ups will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 and Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Sacred Heart Parish Center.

The registration fee is $75. For more information, contact John Montgomery at 252-4314.

YMCA offering karate classes

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is offering karate classes for Y-members and the general public.

Adult and youth classes meet Tuesday and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, contact the YMCA at 253-5304.
