Violin takes wing at Cornell seminar
A seminar titled “When Your Wing is Your Musical Instrument: The Fascinating Story of the Club-winged Manakin,” will be held at 7:30 tonight at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca.
It is free and open to the public.
The seminar will center on the male Club-winged Manakin#'s suite of unique features, which enable it to make violin-like notes with its wings.
Moravia site for passport requests
A passport application night will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 30, in room 134, at Moravia High School.
Applications and instructions will be available at Moravia High School in the Main Office through Nov. 30.

Artists market held Nov. 26 in Ithaca
The holiday artists market will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 26, at the Women's Community Building, corner of Cayuga and Seneca streets in Ithaca. Admission is free, with music by the East Hill Jazz Duo.
Cayuga College to host craft fair
Cayuga Community College will hold its 32nd annual Holiday Festival Craft Show in Spartan Hall on the Auburn campus the first weekend of December.
The free public event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.
More than 170 vendors from throughout the northeast will display and sell a wide range of handcrafted items.
A multicultural food court in the college cafeteria will offer tastes of American, Italian, Filipino, Native American, African American, and Ukrainian foods.
The festival will also feature performances by acoustic musician and roving singer-storyteller Stephen Baird.
A Boston-based entertainer, Baird invites audiences to participate as he plays a variety of string and percussion instruments.
The Auburn Players will host a holiday children's play, “The Sound of Music in Concert,” at 1 p.m. both days in the college theater.
The craft show is sponsored by the college's Student Activities Board.
