Schillace leads Cortland State
Auburn's Matt Schillace scored his first of two goals just 4:33 into the first period of Cortland State's ice hockey game against Potsdam last Friday. His two goals were not enough to lift the Red Dragons, though, as they fell 9-3 to the Bears.

On Wednesday, Schillace added his sixth goal of the season as the Red Dragons fell 7-1 to Oswego.

Cortland (1-8-1) plays at Hobart today at 7 p.m.

AHS hoops teams holding food drives

The Auburn boys and girls basketball teams are holding canned food drives on Nov. 28 and 29.

The Auburn boys play Ithaca on Monday, Nov. 28 and anyone bringing a can of food to the game will receive free admission and the same for the girls game on Tuesday, Nov. 29 against West Genesee.

Collected food will be donated to the St. Alphonsus food pantry.

New bowling tourney starts this Sunday

The first Auburn Mixed Doubles Handicapped Bowling Tournament will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 at Starlite Lanes.

The winners of the tournament will each receive a double-ball bowling bag compliments of Bowler's Choice.

Entry forms are now available at Starlite Lanes or reservations can be made by telephone.

Auburn Hockey Club holding raffle

The Auburn Hockey Club will be hosting its annual Turkey Raffle from 7 to 10:30 tonight.

The raffle will be held at the Knights of Columbus on 47 Market St. in Auburn. Food will also be available at the raffle.

CYO H.S. hoops holding sign-ups

The CYO high school basketball league sign-ups will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 and Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Sacred Heart Parish Center.

The registration fee is $75. For more information, contact John Montgomery at 252-4314.

AHS hockey team hosting reception

The Auburn varsity hockey team will be hosting a “Face-Off” reception to kick off the 2005-06 varsity hockey season. The reception will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Knights of Columbus.

Admission is free, the food is free and there will be raffles and prizes offered. The general public is invited.

tryouts for Storm

Tryouts for the CNY Storm half-year teams will be held Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 28 and 29 at the CNY Cheer Company gym in Syracuse. The team is open to anyone in 3rd through12th grade.

YMCA Family Fun Night tonight

The YMCA will host a Family Fun Night from 5:30 to 8 tonight at the Auburn YMCA. Pizza, drinks, gym games, crafts and family swim time will be provided. The event is free for Y-members and there will be a $2 fee for non-member guests.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registrations are due by noon on Nov. 17.
