Spartans come from behind for victory over Herkimer

HERKIMER - Rodney Westbrook scored 19 points, including a pair of free throws with 2.8 seconds left to seal a 61-58 victory for the Cayuga Community College men's basketball team over Herkimer on Saturday.
Though the Spartans trailed 32-26 at the half, they rallied for the win with the help of Oscar Davis' six points and 10 rebounds in the second half.

Derrick Watson was a top performer for the Spartans with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Women's Basketball

Herkimer 62, Cayuga 57

HERKIMER - The Cayuga Community College women's basketball team took a 35-28 lead into halftime but couldn't hang on as the Spartans were edged by Herkimer on Saturday.

Alyson Colton had 13 points and nine rebounds, Aubrey Ciraolo had 12 points, Shakimba Pierre added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Michelle Taylor netted 10 points.

The Spartans (1-1) host Fulton-Montgomery Wednesday for their home opener.
