John J. “Jack” Pausley

AUBURN - John J. “Jack” Pausley, of Frances Street, Auburn, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at home, in the presence of his family.
Jack was born in Auburn, the son of the late Bertrand and Margaret O'Toole Pausley.

He attended Holy Family High School and Sampson College. Jack was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Marine Corps where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Presidential Unit Citation.

Jack was vice president of McGuire & Bennett in Ithaca before starting his own construction business, John J. Pausley Inc., with offices located in Ithaca and Auburn.

He is survived by his loving family: His wife, Bettina Mitchell Pausley; his children, Lois Hough of Nevada, Laura Pratt and Lane Pausley, both of Auburn, and Blair A. Pausley of New York City; his grandchildren, Dustin Pratt, Tarah Pratt and Kyra Pausley; and his sister, Margaret Kilmer of Auburn.

Family and friends are invited to join Jack's family at 10:30 a.m. Monday, for his services at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming.

There will be no calling hours.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at noon Monday, at the Springside Inn, following services at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn.
