Carmen D. Rivera

KING FERRY - Carmen D. Rivera, 77, of Route 90, King Ferry, passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005.
Mrs. Rivera was born in Puerto Rico on June 19, 1928. She was raised in New York City, and had resided in King Ferry in recent years. Carmen had been employed as an administrative assistant for United Cerebral Palsy of NYC

and participated on the United Cerebral Palsy Telethon.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of King Ferry and was a co-writer for the church newsletter. She was a member of the Southern Cayuga Sunshine Senior Club, the S. C. Garden Club and was a volunteer for the King Ferry blood drive. Mrs. Rivera had also been a writer for the Genoa-King Ferry Tribune for 11 years.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Carlos Rivera; her daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and George Welch; her grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathan and Therese Welch and her brothers, Thomas and Hector Diaz, Joe Ithier and Robert Rodriguez

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 in the First Presbyterian Church of King Ferry. Interment will be in West Genoa Cemetery, King Ferry. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 10117 Route 90, Genoa.
