Hurricane benefit to take place Saturday
The Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs of Cayuga County will host a benefit for Hurricane Katrina victims. The benefit will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 5 at Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center in the Fingerlakes Mall. It will take place in the front parking lot with a “Sportsman's Tailgate” Sale. There will also be a “Game Cookoff” and winners will receive Bass Pro Shops gift cards.
Cost to reserve a parking slot in the Sale/Cookoff area is $10.
Anyone interested in signing up for this event can do so at the Bass Pro Shops customer service counter before Nov. 5 or at the registration table under the front awning on the day of the Tailgate Sale and Game Cookoff. Participants need to supply their own table and/or pop-up tent and vehicle to sell from. For more information on the event, call the store at 258-2700.
Wild game dinner coming Nov. 15
There will be a wild game dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the Lodge at Welch/Allyn. Featured will be ribeye of Buffalo, roasted wild boar, wild game sausages, king salmon and salad and sauce stations.
There will also be musical entertainment, a gun raffle, specialty basket silent auction and a cash bar.
Cost per person is $75 and all proceeds benefit the Disaster Services of the Cayuga County Chapter of the American Red Cross, please RSVP by Nov. 4 at 252-9596 or email chapter@ccredcross.org.
