With the addition of a footwear store aimed at teen shoppers and a piercing kiosk, the Fingerlakes Mall has now signed 26 new tenants since anchor tenant Bass Pro Shops announced its opening.
The Aurelius shopping center announced the most recent leases this morning. The new tenants, Journeys and Piercing Pagoda, further boost the mall's attraction to a variety of shoppers, mall officials said.
“We strive to give our customers a great one-stop shopping experience in a convenient location, and these new stores help us achieve that goal”, said mall general manager Gina Speno in a press release.
“Journeys and Piercing Pagoda are new to our market and they will fit in very well with our tenant mix.”
Journeys sells a wide selection of name-brand footwear and accessories. The chain has more than 600 stores nationwide.
Brands the company sells include Dr. Martens, Converse, Lugz, Steve Madden, Timberland, Vans, Diesel, adidas, Candie's, GBX and more.
Journeys will occupy mall space between Littman Jewelers and Maurices.
Piercing Pagoda has been a shopping mall staple since Bernard and Bertha Cohen opened the first kiosk location at a shopping center in Whitehall, Pa., in 1969.
While the company's core business remains piercing services, it now offers a wide range of jewelry.
The chain has grown to include 850 locations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, making it the nation's largest specialty kiosk retailer of gold jewelry.
Retail jewelry chain Zale Corp. is Piercing Pagoda's parent company, having purchased the chain in 2000 in an effort to broaden its ranges of customers. Their Fingerlakes Mall kiosk is located in front of Aeropostale.
