ELMIRA - The fifth-seeded Southern Cayuga boys soccer team knocked off fourth-seed Elmira-Notre Dame 2-0 in a Section IV, Class C quarterfinal Saturday.
Casey Denman scored in the first half off of an assist by Chris Driscoll. Midway through the second half, Jonathan Hughes scored on a Chris Hilliard assist and Tyler Hilliard secured the shutout with 20 saves.

“Our team played outstanding on defense, they all just had a great game,” Chiefs coach Terry Underwood said.

The Chiefs are 11-3-3 with two of those losses coming to the Crusaders.

“We've improved a great deal this season,” Underwood said. “It is nice to see the third game come up positive.”

Southern Cayuga will face the winner of the Groton/Unadilla Valley in the semifinals Wednesday.
