According to local bait shops fishing pressure continues to be extremely low. The bait supplier for one shop would not deliver bait because of the cost of fuel. Another shop will be closing sooner than planned because of the lack of business. All that said, most anglers know when that lake water cools this time of the year, fishing actions peaks.

CAYUGA LAKE -Lake trout continue to be taken between 50 and 120 feet and from shore off of Taughannock State Park with jigs tipped with egg sacs; troll from 40 feet up for browns; rainbow are being taken from shore off points, docks and at the mouths of creeks; perch are doing well outside weed beds especially south of Deans Cove; bass fishing continues to be good.

OWASCO LAKE -Perch are being taken with small brown and yellow jigs and tube lures; anglers jigging deep (around 100 feet of water) are taking lake trout; fish for bass from the weed beds to shore.

SKANEATELES LAKE - Anglers should continue to troll at 40 feet for rainbow and landlocks; nice perch are being taken drifting with flatheads; fish for bass from the weed beds to shore.

LAKE ONTARIO - Salmon are running in Oswego River and other tributaries.
