ITHACA - Virginia A. Drake, 75, of 1028 Ellis Hollow Rd., Ithaca, NY went to heaven on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca following a brief illness.
Born Oct. 30, 1929 in the Town of Niles, she was a daughter of the late Eugene H. and Sarah E. Beacham Mack. She had been a security supervisor with Morris Protective Services of Syracuse prior to her retirement in 1993. Ginny had a real talent for arts and crafts and enjoyed making things for others.
Mrs. Drake is survived by her loving companion of 10 years, Raymond Newhart of Ithaca; her children, Charles E. (Judy) Drake of Merrill, Richard O. (Anne) Drake of Lansing, Michele D. (Jon) Fish of Lansing, Cheryl E. (James) Dykeman-Loveless of North Lansing, Tracey B. Drake of Harford, and Doris R. (Leonard) Scott of Moravia; sisters, Aleeta Bell of Skaneateles, and Eleanor Brock of Moravia; 25 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and close friend Lucy O'Dell of Ithaca.
In addition, she was predeceased by her three brothers, Gordon Mack in 1972, Clifford Mack in 1971 and Stanley Mack in 1988; and her former husband, Clifford O. “Kip” Drake in 1998.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Lansing United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Gottschalk-Fielding officiating. Private burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
