AUBURN - Fannie Salata, 89, formerly of 7 Woodruff Place, Auburn, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, in Bluegrass, Iowa.
She was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Rosario and Maria Amore Cuzzolino, and had been residing in Iowa the past 18 months with her daughter. She previously had been a resident of Auburn. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, and was a member of its Holy Rosary and Scapular Society. Fannie, as she was affectionately known, was a member of the Catholic Daughters in Auburn. Prior to her retirement, Fannie had been employed for numerous years at the former Columbian Rope Co. in Auburn, retiring in 1971.
She enjoyed countless trips to Turning Stone, Las Vegas and the many trips that she spent abroad. Fannie was a recipient of several prizes for her knitting and crocheting, and had a great love for cooking.
She is survived by her daughters, Mariann Tindall and her husband, Frank, of Vicksburg, Mich., Kathy Charles and her husband, Pat, and Pamela Alnutt, all of Auburn; a brother, Sam Cuzzolino of Auburn; grandchildren, David Lepak, Peter Tindall, Renee Charles-Felice, Donald and Timothy Alnutt; as well as several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; a very special friend, Pauline Dec; and her two canine companions, Precious and Tiffany.
In addition to her parents, Fannie was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1972; a brother, Louis Cuzzolino; and her son-in-law, Donald W. Alnutt in 2005.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at 11 a.m. Saturday, in St. Mary's Church for Fannie's Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
