Auburn police officers arrested a Syracuse man they say held up the Kwik Fill/Red Apple Convenience store at 302 Genesee St. Tuesday morning.
Police described Marques P. Milligan, 22, as a “transient from Syracuse.” Milligan, with a last known address of 214 Green St., Syracuse, was arrested at 12:19 a.m. Thursday after officers observed him on foot in the area of North Street and the East Arterial.
Police reported recovering money from Milligan that they believe was the proceeds of Tuesday's 4:08 a.m. robbery.
Witnesses reported that during the robbery the suspect intimated he had a gun and demanded money from the clerk. He threatened the clerk when the clerk initially refused his demand. No actual weapon was observed.
A dark-colored - possibly green or blue - Ford Explorer with gold or bronze trim around the windows was waiting for the robber on Dunning Avenue, police said.
Milligan is wanted by the Syracuse Police Department on an unrelated drug warrant. He was arraigned in Auburn City Court Thursday and held without bail pending further court action. Milligan faces a felony charge of second-degree robbery.
