According to local bait shops fishing pressure continues to be extremely low. The bait supplier for one shop would not deliver bait because of the cost of fuel. Another shop will be closing sooner than planned because of the lack of business. All that said, most anglers know when that lake water cools this time of the year, fishing actions peaks.

CAYUGA LAKE -Lake trout are being taken between 50 and 120 feet and from shore near Taughannock State Park with jigs tipped with egg sacs; troll from 40 feet up for rainbow and browns; perch are doing well outside weed beds; bass fishing continues to be good late afternoon to early evening near shore.

OWASCO LAKE -Perch are being taken with small brown and yellow jigs and tube lures; anglers jigging deep (around 100 feet of water) are taking lake trout; according to one angler the water temperature is still at 60 degrees which is warmer than usual for this time of year; the water temperature decrease is about two weeks behind.

SKANEATELES LAKE - Anglers do well with rainbow and landlocks trolling at 40 feet; perch are starting to bite, drift with flatheads until you find them; bass fishing should also be picking up.

LAKE ONTARIO - Salmon are running well in Oswego River and other tributaries.
