AUBURN - Alfred J. Adams, 74, of Auburn, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Auburn Memorial Hospital.
Alfred was born Jan. 14, 1931, in Auburn, the son of the late George and Florence Seamens Adams. He was a life resident of the Auburn area. He had been employed at Auburn Cement Products, Red Star, Calahan Trucking and also worked as an independent trucker for 12 years, retiring in 1992.
Al was an avid Mets fan and Dale Jarrett fan. He and his wife, Nancy, enjoyed camping and RVing, having traveled to 48 states.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gary Adams, who would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary, Oct. 12, 2005; a daughter, Lori Adams of Auburn; a brother, David (Cheryl) Adams of Weedsport and sisters, Dorothy Short, Jerry Lamphere and Iva (Robert) Kennedy, all of Auburn. He was predeceased by 15 brothers and sisters.
Family and friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10 at Jewell Funeral Homes Inc., 8886 S. Seneca St., Weedsport. A memorial service will immediately follow with the Rev. James Carroll, officiating.
