PORT BYRON - Lena C. Ohara, 87, of Route 31, Port Byron, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at Cayuga County Nursing Home, Sennett.
Mrs. Ohara was born in Auburn, the daughter of Wilard and Lena Llewelyn Fulmer. She retired from the cafeteria staff of Port Byron Central Schools in 1983 after 23 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Port Byron.
She was a member of the Finley M. King 107 Eastern Star, the Auburn Thelma Rebbeca Lodge, the Port Byron and Weedsport Senior Citizens and the Port Byron Food Pantry.
She is survived by her husband, Lester Ohara, whom she married on March 23, 1940; a daughter, Charleen Wood and her husband, Ted of Port Byron; granddaughter, Christina Bobbett and her husband, Richard of Port Byron; great-grandson, Zachary Bobbett and a special friend, Rose Fairrock of Port Byron.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, from the First United Methodist Church, South Street, Port Byron, with the Rev. Nola Carroll and the Rev. Martha King officiating. Interment will be in Throopsville Rural Cemetery.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Audioun Funeral Home, 218 Main St., Port Byron. Eastern Star services will be at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Port Byron Ambulance Fund, PO Box 367, Port Byron, NY 13140.
