Judge Roberts is a shoo-in for chief justice and I can't say that I'm disappointed by that fact.
I've done a lot of reading and I haven't found too much that truly scares me, but I can say there are some questions that have come to my mind.
Why would someone be so secretive during the interview process for the job of chief justice? This isn't just any old job, he'll be making rulings that will alter the world in years ahead. I think our Senators have every right to be a bit concerned with his silence.
This is something that has me a bit scared but in the same respect, I can understand him not wanting to join the circus of politics surrounding him. Yes, I will agree that he may have to make some rulings on some of the hottest topics of our time, but hey, at this point I think we're better off with someone younger and more professional in the seat of chief justice.
OK, here's a question for you: Why would such an ultra-conservative president pick someone that would essentially please all of us "flaming liberals?"
A very good question if you ask me, but then again maybe President Bush hit his head while he was swinging from the presidential monkey bars or maybe there's something hidden beneath his sand box and he'll later dig it up and throw it in our faces.
A lot like what the spider monkeys have been known to do when threatened, and by saying that I mean reaching back and throwing its own feces back at you as a weapon, hmmm maybe it's his WMD .
There's so much to fear while filling this position, but also at the same time, we know not everyone is going to be satisfied - no matter who is going to be placed in the position. Planned Parenthood launched its own investigation because women need answers before saying he's the man who should be ruling on whether they truly have a choice.
Now what about that nasty marriage amendment that was pushed to the back burner? Will Robert's silence show a secret hatred for homosexuals, women and everything else that is simply waiting to be pushed to the front lines?
OK everyone, lets face the facts: There's not too much we can do when it comes to picking and choosing members of the high courts, but this is where we all need to place our hopes on the elected officials to do our bidding.
I know it can be hard when the Republicans tower over us liberals, but I truly don't think Roberts is the worst man for the job.
We'll have to wait and see, but in the meantime remember: Either way, we are still stuck with our Presidential Monkey until 2008.
Here's to drinking more, taking anti-depressants and anything else that might help the time to go by faster.
