AUBURN - Joseph A. Cahalan, 77, of 10 Chestnut Street, Auburn, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at the Auburn Memorial Hospital.
A native of King Ferry, Joseph was born on June 5, 1928, the son of Patrick and Catherine Geoghean Cahalan. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of World War II. He served with the Pacific Theater. Upon his return home, he was a self-employed carpenter and resided in Syracuse before returning to Auburn. He was a member of the VFW Post 1975 of Auburn and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are three daughters, Debra Miller, Christine Dodge and Susan Cahalan, all of Syracuse; one sister, Veronica Shelton, Auburn; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Farrell's Funeral Service Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, with the Rev. James Enright officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, King Ferry.
A calling hour will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to services on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
